The Happiness Diaries #2

Thursday, 18 May 2017

Welcome back to out Happiness Diaries! Before we dive in to our lists, here's some thoughts about this post series for you.

This is an exercise for being happy as we strongly believe that happiness comes from within and is an inside job. The more you think about what makes you happy, the happier you are! The power of appreciation and gratitude is immeasurable.

As mums, it can sometimes feel that so much is now out of our control; some days just don't flow, and some weeks feel like they'll never end!

The intention behind The Happiness Diaries is to shift the focus of what we don't want. We want to encourage ourselves, and you, to cast an eye around and think of the things that

There is a positive and energetic feeling inside you that is so powerful, and no one can take it away from you, even yourself!

If you haven't already, start thinking about what makes you happy now! Grab a copy of our Happiness Diaries download and let it help guide you back to the happiness and gratitude already in your life.

Without further ado, let's dive right into our own Happiness Diaries and share what's been going on for us this past week!

Julia:

Here's what's making me happy -
  • My fantastic husband Fede preparing food for us for almost two days before leaving for the weekend - and not only, the food was super good! - if he ever wants to stop being a professor, he could really be a chef !

  • The day spent together with my adorable son Diego, my incredibly kind and brilliant friend Jenn and her her perfectly awesome son Luca, this day gave me joy, motivation, ideas and gratitude.. and yes, Lady Tiredness was there too at the end of the day, you know if you are a mum that she will rarely go on holiday!

  • Reaching more than 130 likes on our Bella Mamma Facebook Page - the more love and support we can share, the happier we are!

  • My clever little boy Diego at nursery calling his favourite teacher by her name! And saying lots of new worlds these days, I'm so amazed by him!

  • My beautiful Sister Sara calling me on Skype twice this week! It's so hard to keep in touch with our crazy busy life and sometimes we don't hear from each others in weeks, but this week was special! I love you Sis!

  • Getting excited about my friend's wedding in a couple of weeks in Barcelona!

I think I could go on with this list, the more I think about what makes me happy, the more I can add onto it! But that's it for now, can't wait to know if this is working for you too! Let us know in the comments below!

Jennifer

Hey lovelies, thanks for joining us again for another edition of the Happiness Diaries. Her's what's been making me happy -

  • Journaling
The past week I've really put the focus on my gratitude list. I've been journaling even more and I'm including 5 things every day that I'm grateful for and it already has had an impact on my life. It's just made me feel more contented and happy where I am right now.

  • Supportive women
It's so true, when women support and uplift other women amazing things happen. I put a call out this week to speak to some local female business owners an I was astounded at the responses I got back. Because of they're remarkable generosity, we have some Ah.Mazing give-aways lined up for our monthly newsletter. Trust me you're *definitely* going to want to be on that list!
  • Sunshine!!!!
Ok, so this week has had it's ups and downs weather wise, but when the sun has shone, man oh man it has felt GOOD! Since discovering I have a Vitamin D deficiency earlier this year, I'm enjoying getting outdoors even more and soaking up some rays. Keep it coming Mother Nature!

  • My partner Freddie
I love this guy. Don't get me wrong we have our 'moments' but he's been so supportive of my dreams and vision. He's there for the cuddles and to warm my feet up when I get into bed... I'm super grateful for him. I'm also so proud of the achievements he's currently having in work. The sky's the limit babes, keep soaring!

  • Gifts for myself
Before I had Luca, I used to treat myself a lot. Self care was high on my list whether that was a yoga class, a new top, a blow dry, flowers, or a new nail polish, I always made time for me. Since becoming a Mum most of that has fallen by the way side, so this week I bought myself a bunch of white roses and it felt really good to give something back to myself. I love seeing these beauties in our dining room.
